Maurizio Cattelan — Bubblegum Cigarettes, 2012
Edible Candy Sculpture
x Kreëmart Editions
You don’t smoke—for health reasons, of course—but the allure of rebellion still lingers. With Bubblegum Cigarettes, Maurizio Cattelan x Kreëmart deliver a cheeky, edible twist on the classic symbol of vice.
Created to celebrate the launch of the Toilet Paper Book (Freedman/Damiani), this limited-edition work includes candy cigarette packs that release a gentle puff of sugar dust when “smoked.” Presented at a private event alongside marzipan-and-ice cream cigarette cakes by chef Guido Mogni, the experience blurred the line between humor, critique, and indulgence.
Part of the Kreëmart Editions series, this piece challenges cultural norms with sugary defiance—because who said you can’t have your vice and chew it too?
Note: This product is made from edible materials but is not intended for consumption. It is designed exclusively for decorative or artistic purposes.
