Marina Abramović — The Silver Nose, 2011
Dark Chocolate with Edible Silver Finish
x Kreëmart Editions
Originally created for the opening dinner of Marina Abramović’s retrospective at Garage CCC in Moscow, The Silver Nose is both a ritual and a relic. Cast from the artist’s own profile and finished in edible silver, this sculptural dessert transforms a facial feature into a bold, performative statement on identity, consumption, and beauty.
Inspired by Nikolai Gogol’s surreal tale of a man in search of his missing nose, Abramović reclaims the narrative—offering not a single vanished feature, but 540 silver noses, shared with guests in a collective act of indulgence and transformation. The piece invites its audience to literally “wear” the artist’s nose, before consuming it in a symbolic gesture of embodiment and erasure.
Part of the Kreëmart Editions series, this edible sculpture, created in collaboration with chef Guido Mogni, is a cheeky meditation on vanity, ritual, and the power of self-acceptance.
Note: This product is made from edible materials but is not intended for consumption. It is designed exclusively for decorative or artistic purposes.
