In April of 2022, Gómez Centurión embarked on the next iteration of his “Impressions of the Landscape” series with his project “I Speak the Mercedario,” an artist led expedition into the heart of the Cordillera de los Andes in Argentina. Once there, the artist utilizes the frottage technique developed by surrealist Max Ernst, to take the imprints of the mountain to use within his latest series of works.
Gómez Centurión’s work has been exhibited internationally and he was honored by the National Academy of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires in Argentina as the winner of the Alberto Trabucco Painting Prize in 2015. Due to this honor, his work was exhibited at the Museum of the University of Tres de Febrero in Buenos Aires. He has made numerous exhibitions Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, England and France in museums and in galleries. His work is in many private and public collections. He is currently featured in a documentary about his travels with fellow artist, Pat Andrea, titled Digo la Cordillera, cuadernos de viaje (I Speak the Andes: Travel Journals). He lives and works between San Juan and Buenos Aires.
