"Last night at the Garage took place another event on a very large scale. Marina Abramowicz have arrived to Moscow with her exhibit "The Artist is present" - covering the most important parts of her creativity, in retrospective. The whole exhibition presents, in order, 50 different installations, and also 4 performances executed by young artists. The first one takes place already at the entrance, where face-to-face stand: a naked man and a naked woman, between whom (you want it or not) all visitors must pass. The whole space is divided into three zones: one solely to recreating the performances, the second covers cooperation and achievements with Abramowicz's husband - Ulay; finally, this retrospective is crowned with so-called zone of the white blocks. Marina Abramowicz has frequently altered the conception of her show, and during that vernisage she explained to those who wished to hear her - some, but not all, of her art objects. Naturally, after viewing the rooms, the guests (all according to the dress-code wearing - black and red) went to the dinner party, which was preceded by a performance by Abramowicz - in person. After climbing the stairway she read a fiery speech on artist's destiny, followed by an ovation which wouldn't end for a long time. A little later while still on the stage, she confessed that in her childhood she hated her nose, and even asked her parents to pay for a corrective procedure by a plastic surgeon; but as time passed she has found power to like her own nose and accepted it the way it is - tearing into pieces her collection of Brigitte Bardot's photos. Then the waiters started to distribute the noses of Marina Abramowicz made in white sugar by the Kreëmart company. And to the joy of the star all guests, without exceptions, put them on. The midnight have approached when the majority of the guests, headed by the hostess of the Garage - Dasha Zukova and Marina Abramowicz, left for an after-party at "Simachev Bar," where the festivity have continued until early morning."
